“One of the best courses to play.” - Golfweek
Designed in 1909 by Devereux Emmet, the Leatherstocking Golf Course is considered one of the East’s most scenic and challenging resort golf courses. With two great finishing holes, #17 Par 3 playing up to 195 yards over water and #18 Par 5 with an island tee and the fairway along the lake, how the golfer plays these holes often determines whether the match is won or lost. Featuring natural contour terrain that sweeps along the western shoreline of Lake Otsego with views from various elevations, guests are assured of a great golfing experience.
The Leatherstocking Golf Course welcomes guests of The Otesaga Hotel and The Cooper Inn along with visitors to the Village of Cooperstown and local residents. Advanced tee time reservations are recommended.

High Environmental Standards. Wildlife Habitat Preservation.
In addition to the quality of play on the course, The Leatherstocking Golf Course has been hailed for its commitment to high environmental standards and to the preservation of wildlife habitat. Audubon International officially designated Leatherstocking a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary,” under its Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System (ACSS), a program supported by the United States Golf Association.
