Matt Downey has been playing guitar for over 15 years and has his roots in punk rock, metal, and folk music. He went to College at Fredonia where he majored in Music Education and Classical Guitar Performance. While at school Matt founded a Gypsy Jazz Quintet, was a part of the Fredonia Guitar Quartet, and also played 4 string banjo for a touring Dixieland Band called the Fredtown Stompers. After obtaining his degrees, Matt moved back to Upstate New York to pursue a career in music and piano tuning. He has returned to his roots and uses his classical and jazz background to perform alternative rock, punk, and ska music. He currently works as a high school guitar and choir instructor at a small school in Upstate New York.
