What are the components of a "perfect" event in your mind?
Planning & Execution. Ensuring every detail is discussed ahead of time to reduce margin of error or miscommunication. Begin the planning process early so everything is settled prior to the event.
What sets The Otesaga apart as a destination for meetings?
Our remote Resort setting in the beautiful Village of Cooperstown sets The Otesaga apart as a destination for meetings. The Otesaga sits on Lake Otsego, also known as Glimmerglass, the name given by James Fenimore Cooper in his Leatherstocking Tales. Our meeting rooms all have windows and many with great views of the lake. We also offer Leatherstocking Golf Course on property and are within walking distance to 3 great museums, including the National Baseball Hall of Fame, where unique receptions or dinners can be offered in the breathtaking Hall of Plaques.
How do you think events will change in the future as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic?
Many events will decrease in size due to COVID-19. There will be more hybrid meetings. Eventually the larger meetings will return as people need the personal contact, the opportunity to network and a little bit of entertainment during their conferences.
What is your favorite part of being a part of The Otesaga team?
Our favorite part is working together to make an event successful and have the conference return again or the guests return with their families.
