In addition to the exciting play
of The Otesaga's championship Leatherstocking
Golf Course, The
Otesaga offers guests both pool and lake swimming. Canoe
rentals are available for enjoyment on the clear
waters of Lake Otsego. The lake is also one of the finest
deep water fisheries in Central New York, habitat for
lake salmon, trout and small and large mouth bass. During
the appropriate season fishing and hunting guides
can assist you. Group skeet shooting can also
be organized.
The Otesaga's Fitness Center in the
Lower Lobby is open 6:00AM-8:00PM. It offers a variety
of equipment to help you keep fit and trim during your
stay at The Hotel.
Also, The Otesaga offers
Yoga Classes for all ages! No experience required. Join
Katherine Walters, RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher), for an enjoyable multi-level
Yoga class at various times each week. Suitable for participants who are
in good health and are willing to move from the floor up, and back down
again. Classes offer a mix of vinyasa flows, Kripalu-style introspection,
and YogaFit™ strengthening. Beautiful music, fun balancing postures
and wonderful relaxation will all ensure that you leave the class feeling
invigorated and refreshed. All necessary mats and props are provided. Check
with the Concierge for class days and times.
Tennis is available on all-weather
courts throughout the day. Jogging,
and biking trails will explore the
historic village of Cooperstown
and the natural wooded landscape along the eastern
side of the lake.
Guests
of The Otesaga may, for a nominal fee, enjoy the
facilities of The
Clark Sports Center. Located one mile from
The Otesaga, The Clark Sports Center is a remarkable,
state-of-the-art center offering racquet sports,
aerobic and
Fitness
Centers, basketball, running
track, lap and open family swimming, diving, bowling,
and adventure climbing. Guest lockers and towels
are available.
Beyond aerobic activities, The Otesaga is an ideal retreat
simply to relax and recharge. An indelible memory for
many of our guests has been morning coffee on the lakeside
veranda watching the morning sun as its rises over the
eastern hillside and illuminate the mirror surface of
Lake Otsego. Many guests slip away to the Lake Landing
or a "rocker" on the veranda to reflect or finally read
the unfinished novel.
