In addition to gracious hospitality, fine dining has always been a hallmark of The Otesaga. Now, The Otesaga's two kitchens and catering services are in the capable hands of Executive Chef Thomas Gisler, who brings with him more than 20 years of experience, including work at leading hotels and restaurants in Europe and Asia.


"Meals are consumed first by the eye," says Gisler, 36, a native of Altdorf, Switzerland. Fluent in four languages, Gisler received the Swiss Cooking Association Certificate of Excellency. "I like my dishes and buffet tables to have a 'wow' effect. Presentation and attention to detail make dining an experience, and that is what I strive for."

The Main Dining Room is open daily for breakfast from 7-10 a.m. and dinner from 6-8:30 p.m. Buffet lunch is served Monday-Saturday from 12-2 p.m. and Sunday brunch from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. The Hawkeye Bar & Grill serves lunch daily from 11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., and dinner from 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. For rates and reservations, telephone The Otesaga at (800) 348-6222 or (607) 547-9931.
